Electricity filled the air with poised words of the Honorable Judge Curtis Collier as this year’s dynamic keynote speaker. With the theme "Today's Trayvon", Judge Collier reminisces on the words of convicted soul who accept, embrace and corrected his past indiscretions. His message was clear as to the decisions we make and the consequences that follow. Every day, our youth are inundated with decisions. His Honor indulged in the understanding at how people arrive at their choices and the factors that influence decision making. Judge Collier encouraged participants that it's never too late to right a wrong.
Mr. Track Martin, the father of Trayvon Martin, spoke about the need of
education as a method to help the youth overcome adversities. Our theme,
Today’s Trayvon, focuses on the decisions that lead up to life altering
outcomes. This year’s summit offered positive and constructive advice as well
as first-hand accounts as to how a decision can affect you and the road you
must take to integrity and accountability. Mr. Martin, in red above, instilled
that without education there is no tomorrow. He continued that we have to
educate ourselves as youth and we as parents have to make sure our students get
educated.
